Handwoven on a traditional backstrap loom by artisan weavers in Sololá, Guatemala, this unique runner features a white maiz jaspe (ikat) motif on an indigo background.  In the jaspe (ikat) technique, threads are carefully tied and dyed, then meticulously woven to reveal a design that is often inspired by nature.  This table runner features a pattern of maiz, or corn, the most signficant crop for the Maya people. Woven from naturally dyed indigo threads and finished with hand-twisted fringe.
